01

What Is Covered Yarn?

A covered yarn structure brings a core material and a covering material together in a defined structural relationship. The materials are not selected in isolation: their roles need to be considered alongside the intended textile construction, downstream processing and the objectives that will be evaluated.

For Zhengnan, covered yarn development is a customized structure-engineering task that connects the core and covering materials with the target textile and processing route.

02

Typical Material Combinations

Core and covering roles are selected around the target fabric. These examples show Zhengnan's practical development breadth rather than a fixed SKU catalogue.

01

Rayon

Rayon supports soft, fluid fabric directions and can take a visible covering role around a project-selected core and processing route.

02

Acetate

Acetate supports distinctive surface and handle directions; yarn development accounts for its contact, coloration and finishing context.

03

Cupro

Cupro can contribute a smooth, fluid material expression when its covering role and downstream fabric route are defined together.

04

Lyocell

Lyocell offers a distinct regenerated-cellulose direction for covered structures developed around the intended fabric and process.

05

Natural Fiber

Silk, linen, wool and high-count cotton can contribute specific surface, handle and natural-material character within carefully selected structures.

06

Nylon / Polyester

Nylon and polyester can serve core, covering or companion roles in established covered-yarn directions for knitting, weaving and functional textiles.

07

Elastane with Nylon or Polyester

Established covered-yarn structures can place elastane at the core with nylon or polyester selected around stretch, handle and processing needs.

08

Silk, Linen and Wool

Natural-material combinations can be developed around the desired surface, handle and fabric construction.

09

High-count Cotton

High-count cotton can enter carefully defined covered or composite structures for differentiated fabric development.

10

Conductive Materials

Conductive materials can be incorporated where their structural role and the downstream textile route are clearly defined.

Common Development Directions

Zhengnan's covered-yarn work supports differentiated development across:

  • elastic knitting and other stretch-textile structures;
  • premium woven and fashion fabrics where surface, handle and material expression matter;
  • functional knitting, footwear and technical textile projects using specialized material combinations.

What Shapes the Final Structure

  1. 01The textile application and processing route define the starting point.
  2. 02Core and covering materials are selected as an interacting system.
  3. 03The structure is refined through focused sample development.
  4. 04Final suitability is confirmed under the relevant project conditions.

06 / FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

01Is a Zhengnan covered yarn defined by a fixed specification?

Zhengnan's covered yarn business is based on customized development. The material combination and structure are reviewed according to the intended application and processing requirements.

02Which material areas are included in Zhengnan's covered yarn solutions?

The confirmed solution scope includes rayon, acetate, cupro, lyocell, natural fiber and nylon/polyester covered yarn development. A specific combination still requires project review.

03Can Zhengnan develop a sample for a specific textile application?

Sample development is available after the application, materials, processing route and evaluation requirements have been reviewed.

04Does the use of a particular fiber guarantee the final fabric performance?

No. Final performance depends on the selected structure, materials, downstream processing and evaluation conditions. A material name alone is not a performance guarantee.

Yarn-to-Fabric

From Yarn Development to Fabric Supply

Custom yarn is only the starting point. Zhengnan can coordinate fabric sampling and production through long-term partner mills, then quote and supply the resulting fabric directly.
